A Curious Evening of Trance and Rap with
The Ogden Sisters
Is there anyboby not quite
there?
Good evening ladies and gentlemen, step into our parlour.
We welcome
those who have trodden this earth before and we welcome those who are treading
it for the first time.
But what,
I ask, have you come to see? You don’t know. We don’t know. But what we do know
is that nobody knows.
THE CELEBRATED OGDEN SISTERS
INVITE YOU TO QUENCH YOUR LUST...
FOR THE TRUTH.
After huge success with the Charity Shop Cabaret, Trifle Gathering
Productions bring you their new show... direct from the other side. A new play
by Nick Whitby (Smack the Pony, Eddie Izzard, C4 , Sam Mendes and the Donmar
Warehouse) and Kyla Goodey (Kneehigh, Miracle, Trifle Gathering, Red Ladder,
Cube and Hoodwink).
This original piece of work is an
intimate theatrical experience looking into the fascinating world of mediums
and the origins of the spiritualist movement. Travelling back in time to a
darkened room set in 1892, hand
picked brave observers will dress in victorian bonnets or facial hair and join
the world famous Ogden sisters at their table as they present the MARVELLOUS,
the MYSTERIOUS and the SPIRITUALLY
PECULIAR.
A dark tale of three broken
sisters unveil as an audience voyage to the physical realm, through the etheric
region and right up to the brass knocker of a portal door.
”Tonight spirit seekers we shall embark on a journey
into the unknown and we shall only get there if you open your minds, hearts and
eyes.”
These three hilarious Victorian medium-sisters will be
touring the length and breadth of the country. Drawing together clowning,
choreography, magic, animation and deeply tragic comical characters. This show
is an absurd and all-embracing experience laced together by a wild yet poignant
story.
Sit back, grasp your neighbour firmly in the darkness... and prepare
yourself for a ride!
“Fantasically funny and surreally absurd from start to finish. Go see, and prepare to fall in love.”
